It's here and not due to leave for a few more hours yet. It's our big spring storm. Originally predicted to leave 2-8" of snow it now look more like it will leave 1-4" here in town. Areas near the foothills will receive more as will the Palmer Divide south of town, and the mountains.
The storm started yesterday afternoon with several peals of thunder followed by a heavy rain. The gutter water was black carrying the winter's tire dust away. The rain let up falling more gently for a couple hours before stopping -- here at least. The snow started sometime after midnight and continues at this time. The water from this is most welcome, and though the storm itself is late in the season there should be no tree damage from it as nothing has leafed out yet. The wind is up now, whipping the bare tree limbs about.
Long range forecasts are calling for 70 degree temperatures Sunday and Monday, and are we all looking forward to that.

Ah, Colorado weather! We never get any fun weather here. It is a beautiful day in the SFBA, but I can only look at it out my permanently closed office window. Sigh....
That said, I am going to my first workout of the season in the pool after work (assuming I leave work early enough that it is still light - it turns out it is really creepy to be swimming when it gets dark).
