It didn't take long

The smoke from the California wildfires is here. It's clearly visible during the dusk and dawn hours, and can be smelled when attention is paid. We haven't seen skies like this since the Heyman fire here in Colorado in 2002. (At one point the smoke from that particular fire, some 40 miles away, reduced visibility here to a quarter mile.) I'm not surprised that the LA fires are going to take more than a week to control. I can only hope that Mt Wilson can be saved and that the Santa Ana winds don't kick up in the meantime.

We're also getting some of the smoke here. Very nasty, but pretty sunsets.
