We're expecting our second of three snow storms this week today; it should be starting in a couple hours and run for 20 hours. What fun. The one Monday left us with about 2" on the ground (.1" of water). Today's should leave about the same. Friday's is expected to be like last Thursday's -- an upslope with lots of moisture. This year April showers seems to mean snow.

I see that excitement about getting more water from snow has worn off quickly!
Not at all true! Even after last week's storm, we are very, very short on water for the season. My only real complaint is that we had no snow to speak of from December to the end of March and winter is sticking around trying to make up for that shortage. I'd like some West Coast style rain -- gentle and hours long -- as opposed to our summer thruderstorm sourced drenchings.
Just wanted to let you know that the "west coast style storms" have not been around for a few years. we're way short of water too. And the snow pack in the Sierras' is not great. We're doing the drought thing here in California. In some towns they have already told people to stop watering their lawns or pay the penilty. The weather is kooky all over. Always has been, always will be. Enjoy your snow, we're going to the coast and they are expecting rain showers over the weekend, good timing eh.
