The look of the wetlands has changed considerably since last week. A storm came through on Monday with sub-freezing temperatures but little precipitation. The vibrant yellows are gone from the cottonwoods, as are most of the leaves. Though the grass is still green in the wooded spaces the place looks barren. The only things providing color are the hated Russian olive trees and the occasional peach leaf willow. Here are some pictures.
